  • Snoozy Black Sheep

Black Sheep last night. Kind of snoozed through some of it so couldn't appreciate how great this film was. I *think* it was good. :??: Maybe I shouldn't have had a couple of whiskys beforehand in the pub.

My brain age at the minute is 31 - which isn't too shabby after a couple of days brain train.

(The fella's mum got a lot worse after the last time I blogged about it but she's now able to breath without the oxygen mask and her blood count has started to rise - hopefully I'll be able to see her this weeknd)

  • Sneezing's Not Good For The Back

    My entire back is aching.

Last night my nose went on strike and wanted to stop me beathing. (Luckily the mouth & lungs didn't share the same evil sentiment) I couldn't shift what was up there no matter how many times I blew into my soggy, shredding toilet roll. (Good *tip* - when you have a cold the best tissue type is kitchen roll - get some good strong stuff as it won't disintegrate after the first snot attack).

The nose complained loudly through the medium of 'itch' - holy mole - I almost got the bread knife to the thing....the more I itched the more I sneezed, usually 6 or 7 in quick successsion. (Does that ryhme?) Anyway, here I sit in the aftermath of last nights sneezing fits (I probably clocked up an average of 25 an hour) and my back is taking the blame - such was the force of these sneezes.

The nose has stopped moaning today. I think it's asleep. Although I do still experience the odd tingle as if it wants to sneeze.....but it's seen the bread knife and has thought better.

  • It's Nicole Kidmans Fault

I finally gave in and convinced myself that I needed to buy a Nintendo DS. Nicole Kidman brain train's on one. Therefore I must have one. The fella always says I'm an advertisers dream as I always think things look great on TV. Maybe he's starting to have a point......

  • Lovely Friday

Watched Isolation this afternoon (starring one of our greatest Northern Irish actors John Lynch) - in the words of Louis Walsh, "I liked it. It deserves a record deal." (For full review see FlimFlam...blog)

Having a lovely Friday night in tonight - the first in a long time. So we'll probably have something lovely for tea then get all cosy for Ugly Betty and then probably watch a film on sky box office.

Fridays are good for me - I've started getting the hang of having every Friday off now. Its pretty luxurious - yes, I have to work long hours at the start of the week and I feel like I'm living in work mon-weds but its worth it. Most Fridays I watch Maury on Living TV - hes supposed to be this big respected journalist in America but all his shows are about lie detector tests and dna 'who the daddy' tests. It's great. :>>

  • The Wispa Email Obviously Worked

Asda today - Choco aisle - looking for Wispa - not there - what?? - I emailed and everything - grumbled to the fella - he told me to give up - bread - frozen chips - chicken dippers - tin foil - choco at the end of one of the aisles - let's see - perhaps - galaxy - fancy thornton's bars - opal fruits (ok, starburst whatever!) - twirl - ah getting closer - buttons - wispa - flake - er what??? - wispa - yes that's definately wispa - naked protest averted.

  • A BACON BUTTIE!!

    Very annoyed.

I work until 7 on Mondays and Tuesdays and yesterday I came home and, as it was my turn, I made a curry - now this takes ages, I was very tired after working 11 hours but hey, its my turn - we didn't start eating until 8:30.

Today, it is the fellas turn and what do I get? A bacon buttie. >:-( and what does he make himself? A lovely big omlette. :##

He didn't even ask if I wanted one!!! AAAARRRRGGGHHH.

So now I'm not speaking to him. Real mature. Oh yes.

  • Just a Wee Quick One

Just a quick blog entry as I'm tired and have a headache. :(

Anyway, went out on Friday with my old work mates and had a lovely Bacardi Breezer time. No whisky this time. I really miss my old lot even though I only worked with them for 7 months - they restored my confidence and encouraged me to chase after a job I really wanted to do so hoo-ray for them. :>>

Then I came home and me and the fella watched Blades of Glory - can't say whether I like it or not as I was, well, pished. XX(

Had to endure the rugby on Saturday even though the fella doesn't really understand the rules. "I have to watch it coz its a world cup, and how many times do I get to watch my country in a final?" He said. So I logic puzzled for a bit.

  • Can't Think Of a Witty Title

Missed a bit of blog this week. I work til 7 on mons & tues and up again for 8 the next morning so by the time I get home, have my tea and watch Eastenders I'm usually too tired to go on blog which is a shame.

Bit weird lately, the fella's mums been in hospital for a month and things seem to be going from bad to worse. She went in for one thing and ended up getting pneumonia whilst in hospital so she has to fight that before they can deal with the original thing.........I don't know.....I never wanted to use blog for really personal stuff because I see blog as a tool to record what I'm up to and for general amusement......so I'll just stop there.

On a light note, went to see Bouncers, a play by John Godber - I haven't seen a good one like that in a very long time. Lots of audience whooping and hollering. Superb.

Update on the Asda Wispa email - them sods haven't emailed me back!!!!!! AND there were no Wispas in store today either!!! Therefore I will be starting my naked protest this time next week in my local Asda until they give me results!! :##

EDIT - and I forgot about Blog Action Day

  • My Wispa Asda Email

Here is my email to Asda. Let's hope I get the result I am after.................I'm not getting obsessional about this am I??... :??:

    Dear Asda,

You may, or may not know, that the mighty Cadbury's Wispa was re-released on Monday 8 October. After an extensive campaign to re-instate the 80's choco treat (a favourite amongst most human beings of Britain) I in particular was very excited about this amazing come-back. My excitement was short-lived however, after a trip to my local Asda, I discovered that there were NO Wispa's on the shelves. Now, I looked very hard indeed - but there were none.

I have shopped at Asda for 10 years - you must tell me that you will be ordering in a batch of Wispa's asap.

Please do this Asda! Britain will thank you for it!!

    Yours Faithfully

  • Wispa Interlude 2

Just come back from Asda and they don't have ANY Wispas.

I will be writing a very STERN email - yes that's right! - to the heads of departments.

This is more than an oversight.................

  • A Wispa Interlude

Had my first Wispa since Cadbury's gave up on it today.

    ;D and :>>

  • Tiny Shorts

Went out to a students union for some drinks with friends. My god, it was like the set of Hollyoaks. I have learned that tiny shorts on very tall girls are now all the rage. It was bloody freezing as well.

Quiz night and one of the questions was "Who is Gene Simmons?" I looked round the room and was soon disheartened as most of the groups were looking at each other in intense concentration trying to work out who he was.......you had to choose from 4 possible answers......I over-heard one of them say, "Is he that bloke who does the school of rock program?" Holy Quaso.

  • I Am Nanny

I have a hair growing out of my chin!!!!!!!!!! 88| Help me Jesus!!

No-one tells you that when you turn 30 that you are in for a great many changes. Oh, they tell you when you reach your teens that you will get spots and get cramps and boobs but no-one bothers to enlighten you on all the peculiar hair that starts to grow in all sorts of hideous places.

    I am Nanny Goats Gruff.

Speaking of Nanny - remember Count Duckula who had a housekeeper called Nanny? When the door-bell would go she would say "I'll get it" in a most hilarious voice. Then she would go crashing through the door and say "Sorry, Ducky-Boo's" Oh, how we laughed about this all day today.

Nanny is my new hero......to go along with my new nanny-goat hair.
