    Tossing It Off

Decided to toss off today completely.

My Friday ritual usually consists of tidying and cleaning then do a bit of internet-ing then more cleaning. But, today, the sky has greyed over and is about to rain/hail/sleet/snow (delete as appropriate) and it's so cold I'd much prefer sitting in the warmth with This Morning on the telly and the mac in my lap. So the flat will have to remain in a state. I don't care. (Besides I've done my 20 minutes on the exercise bike which I nearly blacked out from) so I can do as I please.

We've got a minister to agree to marry us - He'll make £150 for what is essentially a few minutes - not bad. I wonder if we have to ask him to stay for the dinner.....? Our save the date invites have been posted out today so hopefully most of those people will be able to come. Lots of people keep telling me that I'm uber-organised and that I'm well ahead of schedule, which I guess I am, but I there's still loads of things to sort out.

  • I wonder how many you'll drag in with that headline... :))

Enjoy your break from routine.

  • Sounds like a perfect way to spend a horrible day like this! Where are you getting married? :) Can the minister marry you anywhere you want? x

    • I'm getting married back home in Northern Ireland and the venue where we're marrying has a couple of resident ministers that offer their services.

Not all ministers will do that (especially in NI - as they prefer you got married in their church) so I'm really pleased he's agreed.

  • Yea, to booking the minister, but wow, that sounds like a good business to be in if you get paid that much. Is it in a church? I can understand if they charge that to pay for the maintenance of an old building.

    • We're marrying in the reception venue - they have a really nice room with low wooden beams and a log fire (all very cosy and very Irish!) - the fella isn't religious at all and really didn't want to marry in a church - he's only agreed to the minister for me because I sort of am religious.

I think you still have to pay though if you have it in a church......I think they call it a 'donation' rather than 'pay me for my services please.'
