  • Goodbye High School

My old High School is being demolished! I was reading the paper and it said that there is an open day next Saturday for any ex-pupils who would like to come and walk around the building for the last time before it goes. If I had known this I would have booked my flight for then rather than this weekend past.

I'm hacked off with this. What was wrong with the building in the first place? And what hideous monstrosity will be built in its place - more bloody flats probably. :##

  • Photographer. Done.

    We've got our photographer! Yeeeesss.

It was a bit of a drive all the way to the bottom of the Mourne Mountains today, which was covered in so much mist and torrential rain it's a miracle we didn't just drive right into the side of the bloody thing. So deposit paid we are now bound to this lovely lady. From the quality of her pictures I think we are in for a really great photo album.....and a fun experience. None of her pictures were contrived or old-fashioned which I think is sometimes the danger of professional wedding photos.

We've no heat in the house because my da forgot to pay the bill or didn't realise we had run out of oil (one of the two) so we've now got a roaring (or if I'm being honest, its more of a low puppy growl as our fireplace is small) fire on the go. Much cosiness all around.:>>

  • 31 Today

    31 today - how has this happened??? Wasn't I 18 a minute ago?? |-|

I must say though that I'm really enjoying being in my thirties. Everything in life seems to become clearer everyday...hopefully it'll stay that way!!

Met the minister today and he was a lovely guy, really laid-back and friendly. So he's signed the marriage licence form and we've paid him his deposit so that's another thing done and I don't need to worry about it any more. Tomorrow we're off to see a photographer - the cheapest I could find and even that came to £800!!

Thanks to all for the birthday wishes. How lovely you all are!!!!

  • It Is Thursday....Yes That's Right

Oh god.....i sent a virtual drink to one of my friends on facebook and I took one of their pointless quizzes......what does this mean???? Said I wouldn't do all the meaningless crap on there......

On a plane tonight for our flight over to NI - meeting our minister tomorrow to discuss....er......the wedding.....hymns?.....what else do you discuss??...oh no....must think of something quick.

Most Haunted Live started last night for 5 long nights - I used to really love this until Acora was seen to be a bit of a fraud. Boooo. So I watched it anyway and I can't help myself but be sceptical about it all now - they're all so theatrical about it that every book that flies off a shelf and every bit of stone that gets 'thrown' at them I just think well, it's probably one of the crew doing all these things for ratings. Will I be watching it tonight? Probably.

  • No-Tip Evils & Stink-Poo-Farts

Yeah, so the fella woke up this morning unable to move his arms without experiencing crushing bone pain because he lifted weights far too heavy for him yesterday just to try and beat his brother in the gym. Pathetic. He gets no sympathy from me because he's always telling me that when I do my work-out I really shouldn't do more than I am capable of - you know, the way he does when he's at the gym. :-/

Also, he had egg and bbq baked beans for breakfast yesterday which meant that my entire evening was spent breathing in his stink-poo-farts. XX(

Had a good day out at the shops - bought a sports bra for my Davina work-out later - we went to TGI Fridays for lunch and I got the no-tip evils from the waitress. It cost £30 for what was essentially burger and chips - there was no salad either - and I don't care how many pop-refills I can have there's no way I'm leaving any more money. So there.

  • Snow-Greed

I was just having a little browse through some of the newest blog entries and it seems like everyone is experiencing snow. Not just a light dusting of the stuff but volumes of it stopping them from going out, ruining all their plans. We have nothing here, in fact it's blue skys and sun? Why is this? There is snow-greed occurring in this country and I feel it should stop! >:-(

Watched the Prestige over the weekend - how amazing is this film?

Bloody bored today. All alone as the fella has gone over to his brothers to compete with him in the gym. Boys. We didn't go over to theirs in the end on sunday because they were hung-over and the fella really wanted to watch the Liverpool match (which they lost) so I've been a bit bored over the last 48 hours. Not to worry, trying to spend my time wisely by sending emails to photographers to see how much they cost and if they can cover our wedding. I think I'm now bored organising this thing.....now that I've got my wedding dress everything else seems a chore.

  • SNNNNNOOOOWWWWW???

It's March, almost April and there is snow thundering from the sky in massive globs. What. Is. Going. On.

In other news, finished Heart Shaped Box a horror novel by Joe Hill - this is the child of (king or horror writing) Stephen King. Hill decided to change his second name because he wanted readers to take him on him own merit. He wanted to write as Joe. Not as Stephen Kings son. Now, if he wanted some sort of anonymity why, when I flick to the back of the book to get a look at his boat-race, see that he has grown a humungous black beard in the style of, oh I don't know, Stephen King!!!

(It was an excellent read though....to be fair)

  • Chillies & Mo

Highly pleasant dinner last night although I got the thai-cramps that I always get when Ive eaten the no. 52 this morning - annoyingly painful but worth it. - I think it might be something to do with the chillies - I think I might be becoming chilli-intolerant which would be a bit of a nightmare on the account that I love spicy food.

The fella went to get his book signed by Mo Hayder at a Waterstone's in town and as there were about 5 people who turned up he had a chance to talk to her about her work......He now thinks Mo Hayder was hitting on him. Since when does, "Have we met before." been a line one uses to hit on some-body? On second thoughts........

  • Happy Easter

    Happy Easter folks

Got the results back from my essential maintenance last month and I am happy to say that everything "appeared normal" I live to complain another day. Woo-hoo!!

We have many plans over the next week. Am off out tonight for a pre-birthday meal to my favourite restaurant (I won't be in the country for my actual birthday so have got away with getting 2 birthday celebration days); shopping tomorrow for my birthday present - just need a pair of trainers this year; Sunday we're over to the fella's brothers and we are supposed to have something fun planned but no-one can come up with anything so I guess that will be a surprise for now; Monday we return from the brothers and I guess we're going to have a nice lazy day; Tues or Weds we are heading over to the fella's dad's and we're taking him out to lunch; then on a plane Thurs to Belfast to meet the minister; Busy but should be fun.

Hope everyone's having a lovely easter day off so far.
    :D

  • Off, Off, Off

Yes! I am off now for 10 glorious days!! Woo-hoo!!
    :>>:>>:>>:>>:>>:>>:>>:>>:>>:>>:>>:>>:>>:>>:>>

  • Ohhhhh Noooooo Ammmmmm Fullllllll Upppppp!!!!!

Bleuuurrr - just eaten a chicken madras from a new take-away and now I feel like XX( - I don't have that sick looking emoticon thing here or I would have used that.

Why do they send such massive portions? It was a good madras but me and Divina will have to have a few stern words about this.

  • Triple Threat

The fella's sister is now with child - that makes three due in August 8| and three screaming weans little ones at the wedding in December.

    8|8|8|8|8|8|8|8|8|8|

CAN EVERYONE STOP THIS MADNESS PLEASE!!!!

(I am very pleased though for her - given the time of conceiving - which would have been around the time that her mum died I think it's a fresh start that she needs)

  • Embracing Facebook??

I'm debating on whether I should just give in to it and embrace Facebook.

Not as much as I have embraced blog you understand but just enough that I can go on and befriend people I know once in a while. The reason for my (proposed) about-turn is an old friend got in touch with me and a couple of my good friends. Now, this girl, back in the day, decided to stop being mates with everyone around her apart from one manipulative b*tch. We were all upset about it but its been 7 years since I last saw her and like I said in an email to her I can't be bothered with grudges.....far too old for that, and life's too short.

So, it got me thinking, I know quite a few people on there - why not just 'friend' them. I'm still in two minds though as I still think facebook is a bit crap......mmm......dunno....this will require a few more thoughts. :**:

  • Lazy Saturday, Active Sunday

Well, we gorged ourselves on Saturday - as promised - after a lovely evening at the theatre watching The Elephant Man - moving and compelling in the first half....then it got a bit weird in the second and fell a bit flat unfortunately.

So, our Saturday went a bit like this - Read the days papers then straight into The Bourne Supremacy (I preferred the first one but this was a really good action film), interspersed with Tangfastic Haribo, salt 'n' vinegar hula hoops and the fella had some cold bbq chicken legs (yuck); short break to see what the football scores where then onto Wrong Turn 2 (so bloody awful it raised a few chuckles), cue bbq beef hula hoops and haribo; another break to make and eat our chicken curry which I haven't had for about 3 weeks so this was like necter and to watch the second half of the chelsea/barnsley match (yee-haa Barnsley!!) Horror channel for May (a disturbed young woman obsessed with 'making' a friend of her own.....literally making a friend using various parts of people she meets - I loved this, the fella said it was crap) haribo had been completely demolished by this stage.

We only managed three films, but it was the most relaxing day we've had together for quite some time. I highly recommend everyone booking themselves a day of complete slodge.

Today, back on the aeorbics and ab work-out with Davina, and only good decent food has passed through my lips. Oh well I suppose the lazy times can't last forever.

  • Lunchy Munchy

Well, just got back from my lunch and I didn't even get to go inside to gloat see anyone I might know from before!!! Mighty disappointed I have to say. I did go for the lasagne in the end - it was one of those Italian places that when you ask for lasagne you get lasgane, no chips or anything. When the waiter asked me if I wanted garlic bread or salad with it I am ashamed to say I almost said, "Don't you get chips with it?" I know that's not very cosmopolitan of me but bloody hell! Where's me chips like?????

So, it was ok and nice to catch up on all the gossip...even if I couldn't go inside.....which I am beginning to think is a tad suspicious |-|

Maybe I was security screened beforehand and I didn't pass and my friend hadn't the heart to tell me. Maybe the big bosses thought I would go crazy and smash things up all the while trying to get everyone to resign immediately. On the spot. :>

  • Stuff Wots Going On With Me

The stage version of The Elephant Man is what we will be venturing outdoors for tomorrow night. I booked these tickets ages ago so am looking forward to this. Haven't a clue who's playing in it which makes it even better as it will be like a little surprise present unwrapping in front of me.

Catching up with an old work colleague as well tomorrow for a spot of lunch. It's been nearly 2 years since I left the hell-hole and I am over the moon to be able to walk back in there restored back to the person I always was. This is the place that stole my personality, confidence and ambition and one of the best days of my life was sticking two fingers up at them by handing in my notice. :D I think we are going for a nice Italian so I might have the lasagne.

Can't wait for Saturday though as me and the fella have HUGE plans - that's right we're staying in, closing the blinds, getting the blanky out, pushing the sofa closer to the TV and watching as many films as we can - only stopping to make our yummy curry. :DD

The 2 mums-to-be are both blossoming beautifully (my friend 'a bit of a bump - only put on a stone or so'; my sister 'fat all over - I don't even look pregnant')

  • I Need A Bit Of Sleep

    Raarrrrr. :`(

I have one of those crappy head colds. You know the type where your brain is trying its best to escape out of your skull and everything inside is freezing but your skin is boiling. I've had two nights of restless sweaty sleep - only paracetomal has relieved bits of the pain. I've got that horrible dead taste in my mouth as well and I've tried getting rid of it with all manner of sauces and chocolate....even though I know it'll be a couple of days before I can taste anything properly again.

Managed to go over to the father-in-laws though for that thai curry and it was surprisingly very nice indeed. No pudding though.

I hope I can get some sleep tonight - hate working when don't get my 8 hours.

  • Thai Curry For Lunch?

So, the fella had a lovely time with his work colleagues at my favourite restaurant - although he was home at 10pm so I wasn't too annoyed plus he brought me 4 spring rolls and chilli dip. yee-haa. So he is forgiven for not bringing me....this time.

I had burger and chips for tea and malteasers and watched some pretty crappy TV - when's Ugly Betty & the IT Crowd coming back on? Friday nights just aren't good enough.

Anyhoo, we're away over to the father-in-law this aft for some green thai curry (for lunch ) but it's home made and considering I missed my no. 52 from my thai restaurant last night, I'm happy to give it a whirl.
