You know those poor market research people who stand out in the street with their clip-boards desperately being ignored by the general public? Well, yesterday i decided NOT to ignore them and shuffle past like I always do and stopped and said of course I have 30 minutes to spare.
So she took me off into a church hall (when did this occur? aren't market researchers supposed to interview you in the street?) - I followed her into the building and into the lift which proceeded to take us to the bottom level of the building when it should've gone up....I did now start to believe that this harmless looking lady, who could have been my grandmother, was actually a cover to get me alone and vulnerable in, what could have been an abandoned building, and that I was about to be sold to members of an organized crime who would then sell me to American businessmen for the purpose of maiming and torturing for laughs.
The lift doors closed and my cleverly disguised torturer said, "Eee, how did we end up down here....must have been a ghost. It's ok we're going up now." The mean hard-faced bastard took me through a corridor, I was now beginning to perspire, and into a room filled with hammers, hand-cuffs, ten-inch knives, a blowtorch, machete's, chains, barbed wire, an episode of Hollyoaks on the TV in the corner......OH MY GOD I'VE WALKED INTO THE TORTURE CHAMBER!!! All this for £3 in Boots vouchers???
Ahem, got carried away there....there were 5 other losers young ladies hunched over computers typing in answers to questions such as, "What do you think of when you hear the word Rimmel" or "What beauty products do you use most often." It was a difficult test
but I came through.....and was rewarded with £3 in Boots vouchers - which should be enough to buy half an eye shadow.
