Sssssssshhhhh - There's Apple Pie In The Fridge

As I got the fella a tattoo and a hotel room for the night there really wasn't anything left to surprise him with. Since my bank account has had a battering I wasn't going to pop up with a Cilla Black style surprise gift. Although, I wanted to do a little something so instead of buying him a birthday cake I thought I'd buy him an apple pie as it is his favourite (with a can of whipped cream).
So, I've had to covertly stash the pie & cream at the back of our titchy fridge with strategically placed apples and eggs hiding the thing. To guard my stash I have been reduced to watching the damn footie poised to pounce on him should he go riffleing for a snacky cake. I just need to last until bedtime which, and I'm not embarrassed to admit this, will be 10pm precisely.
ps - I've got candles for the pie but no lighter or matches. Gah! I might try to light them on the stove - which is electric so good luck there!!
