Have applied for a couple of exciting looking jobs.

One's an editorial position that I'm not even sure I will get an interview for but thought I'd give it a go - I have, after all, nothing to lose - seeing as I'm losing my job anyway because of bad decisions made by higher management. >:-(

Now, do I tell work colleagues about this particular job? We were discussing various jobs yesterday and my colleague said something very interesting. She was talking about a job that she was going to apply for and suggested I do the same. (It wasn't something I was particularly interested in) I said that you should look after yourself really and she said, "We should really help each other out."

I'm not into this. And is it wrong of me to think this way? There are 18 people being made redundant - do I really want to go up against all these better qualified people? Am I the only one that thinks this is akin to kicking yourself in the face? Isn't redundancy the time where you MUST think selfishly?? We ALL have council tax, rent, food, electric et al to pay for so this can't be the right time for decorum. Isn't it every man/woman for themselves???

Am I wrong?
