  • New Years Eve.......Again

Bloody thing made me log back in again.

Anyhoo. I hate New Years Eve. >:-(

It's the only day in the year that I feel pressured into 'having a good time' - luckily for me we are just off to the brother/sister-in-laws tonight for fajitas and beer. I can't even be bothered doing that. I'd rather we sat here watching shitty TV together, hiding from he world.

Oh I've gone all grumpy for some reason. On a brighter note, I'm off until next Monday, I only had to work 3 hours today, we have 3 scary DVD's to take over tonight to watch and I've just had a Wispa. :>>

    Happy New Year folks.

  • Bizarre Top 30 Keywords Thingy

Just had a look at the Top 30 Keywords in the stats bit.

    Bizarre. :??:

  • Thieved From Happy

Meant to do this earlier, so here goes.

    1) What did you do last New Year's Eve?
Stayed in with the fella. Just the two of us watching the IT Crowd.

    2) Did you make any resolutions and did you stick to them?
I did and sort of stuck to them. I feel I may have better luck in 2009.

    3) What was the high-light of 2008 for you?
    My wedding day.

    4) What was your favourite film of (or watched in) 2008?
Oh dear, I hate this question as I can never remember what I have seen. I loved Heroes which, I know, isn't a film but we watched both seasons in one go so was sort of like a film? No? Oh......

    5) What will you be doing this New Year's Eve?
Going round the brother/sister-in-law's for fajita's and booze

    6) What's your favourite party tune or CD to get dressed to?
    Beyonce.

    7) What will you be wearing out this New Year?
Ah, good question. Hmmmm. I do have a new dress but need to buy shoes and a belt to match. So, will probably go for my jeans & new sparkly top.

    8) Getting trollied or designated driver?
We're staying over so nicely buzzed.

    9) What is your tipple of choice?
    Famous Grouse and lemonade

    10) Who is the first person you will kiss in 2009?
    Husband!!

    11) Who is the first person you will call in 2009?
    Probably my mum as well.

    12) Will you make any resolutions?
Yes. Most of my resolutions I have already started so they will be an extension.

    13) What month will you keep your resolutions going until?
    Til next year hopefully

    14) What will be your high-light of 2009?
Cyprus for my friends 30th birthday.

    15) Any tips or advise you'd like to share with your blog buddies?
Once in a while do something totally out of character. It makes life more interesting.

My brother!! My mum was at church and me da was walking the dog!

    5) Stockings?
    No, got brown tights.

    6) Do you write thank you letters?
No - have RSI from writing the thank you notes from the wedding and the Christmas cards. What fool would get married so close to Christmas??!! ;)

    7) Any Breakfast rituals?
I skip breakfast - which I know is bad but we had bacon butties with HP sauce.

    8) Any present opening rituals?

I like that one Mariah Carey did

  • Christmas Day Shenanigans

    Christmas Day was lovely.

We opened our prezzies as is usual I suppose. Got a wicked brown bag that my mum bought me (thanks mum) DVD's, smellies, a clock, the fella got me one of those digital photo frame things and he uploaded a pile of new pics from the wedding that I had never seen before from various guests so that's in the corner of the room. He also got me a framed pic of me and him on our wedding day from the official photographer. I am very happy. :D

The only thing that had the potential to put a dampner on things was that the fella forgot to put petrol in the car and we didn't even have enough in the tank to get us to Asda 5 mins away. We were also running late. So we had to get his brother to come to us with petrol 45 mins away. When they got here my sis-in-law said that my other sis-in-law (the one who was cooking the dinner we were already late for) was 'raging' Ooooops!!

We got there about 40 mins late and she must have calmed down sufficiently by the time we got there phew!!!

Got all a bit unnecessary after phoning my mum to wish her a Merry Christmas. :-/ No-one saw but I think it means we will definitely go over for Christmas next year - the first time for ages. Bit home sick actually as I'm sitting here. Trying to be all happy because it's Christmas and all but feeling a bit lost.

Anyway, aren't all those people who went out to the sales today mad?

  • 1 Sleep To Go - Yee-haa

    Finished the day at 1pm.

Off to M&S I went for our Boxing Day tea. I got there expecting throngs of people elbowing each other out of the way for the last brussel sprout. But there were only a couple of little old ladies and rows of empty shelves. Oh dear. I had a mini panic that the chicken would be all gone - and I was right. It was all gone except for one sad little chicken. My first thought was "Great, last one for us. How lucky is that?" then I thought "Why has it been left?" |-|

But, beggars can't be chooser's I reasoned and bought it anyway. Along with seasonal veg, potatoes and a chocolate pud. Yum.

Oh I've got that lovely festive feeling.

    Merry Christmas!!

  • 2 Sleeps Left

    Only 2 sleeps left!!!! :>>

Work has been so slow I think it may be possible to die from boredom. BUT at least I have a job and have a wage this month and next month - what may happen after that is up to the MD's. So, looking for a new job is high on the old agenda. Must do that tonight actually. The fella (should I keep calling him that or should I now say the hubby??) has bought me a surprise prezzie when I told him not to and it's looking at me from under the tree. I think it wants me to open it.

I have weird guitar in me throat. And not the kind that you strum. Hope I don't get that bloody virus thing that's been in the news.

I have also noticed my friends list has gone down 1. Humph. Wish folk would say cheerio, I'm off, so I've got the chance to say cheerio back.

  • Things I Wanted To Blog About But Didn't Have The Time

Loads of brill meme's around but I really should write about the wedding and honeymoon so I can look back and go ahhhhhh.

So, people are STILL talking about it 2 and a half weeks later. Me thinks folk had a great time  The Yorkshire crew even said they were sad to have to come back home and wanted to stay a few days later! Looking for somewhere different to go on holiday?? Try Northern Ireland - Yorkshire loves it!!

Anyway, the twins played a prank on me - as my fella wears glasses and his bro doesn't they thought it would be a gas for me to have a picture taken with my brother-in-law pretending to be the fella with the glasses on. It worked........for about 30 seconds. There is a great picture of me with them both, then one me looking at BIL, then me realising something was amiss, and then one of me hitting the fella! It was very funny (a lot funnier than I have explained it here ) and I have a great story to bore the kids with when we are old and wrinkley.

For our honeymoon we stayed in a wee cottage in Armoy which is about 7 miles from Ballycastle. We where right at the top of NI and we still had that lovely sunny crisp wintery weather - it even snowed one night as well. The cottage was gorgeous and had a real fire which we lit on the last night - we also had underfloor heating, which I am still raving about but no-one seems to share my enthusiasm |-| - it was awesome!! Getting up on a freezing cold morning and not have your feet solidify with cold is a total phenomenon!!!! I wonder how much that costs to install??

Also, if anyone finds themselves in Ballycastle look out for Big Captain Chris. He runs a fishing boat company where he takes you out for a few hours fishing, and my god he can talk. We bumped into him on the beach and we got all the history of the place and what he was up to in his life. Lovely man actually and he promised us free fish if we found ourselves there in the summer.

  • 132 Posts WTF???????

  • And The Award For The World's Worst First Dance Goes To.....

    I am Mrs.

    LOL. :))

I had an amazing time. Everything worked out just how I wanted it to. After a bad day on Sunday, I woke up at 8am (which is pretty good!) and lay there for an hour thinking, 'just relax all the way until 9am, then get up and get straight into the bath for half an hour' - then when I am dressed in comfy clothes my girls will be at the house for 10am. I have to say I was feeling quite chilled. I took everyone's advice and decided not to panic and just enjoy every second of this mad experience.

Turned out the hairdresser arrived half an hour early at 9:30 but, rather than panic and rush around getting dressed like I would normally have done, I readied myself in 20 minutes letting him wait.

The ceremony was just beautiful. There was a moment there when I thought I'd burst into tears when I stood next to the fella but luckily I snapped it back......only to replace it with uncontrollable giggling all the way through the first hymn :)) It was my da's fault - he's a bad singer.

The bridesmaids looked amazing, the photographer was great, not pushy and did everything we wanted, speeches were great - even the best mans speech! We got away lightly there, everyone had a good time I think - even my 77 year old father-in-law was busting some interesting moves on the dancefloor to Karma Chameleon!! Our first dance was a bit of a shambles but it adds to the whole thing.....or so my da kept telling me :))

There were loads of little things that happened on the day that I am sure I will blog later on. On honeymoon at the mo so should really not be on here!!
