  • It's The Weekend!!!!!!!!!! For Me Anyway. :)

Sold sign has gone up on 'our' house. :>>

Hopefully I can now start calling it our house. We went round to see them again yesterday to discuss what they may be leaving etc and they said that they have seen 2 properties that they love. Another bonus is that there is no real chain as both houses are vacant.

Bit of a bonus that as it obviously means we may be able to move quicker than we thought.

    Yeeeeee-haaaaaaa!!!! :D:D:D:D:D

The fella is at footie tonight and I have texted him to go to the chippy on the way home. The chances of this are quite low. Let's see what happens there. My breath is bated. Like a badger. But not a jem badger.

Really missed my wee class yesterday. The flat looks a bit crap without fresh flowers. Anyway, I need to find a fish bowl for next weeks lesson :??:

Suggestions of where I can buy a cheap, cheap, cheap one please contact the Jembajr Hotline. But not the badger one as there will be no-one there to answer. Can you tell I am on the whiskey? :b

  • Sorty Things

    What have we sorted??

Erm, we've been to the bank (spent an hour and a half there!!) and we have our mortgage in place and a joint account for all things concerning the house. A girl's still gotta keep her own shoe account you know. ;)

Then we whizzed over to the estate agents to give them stuff we forgot at the last meeting like proof of ID and the mortgage promise. FIL is asking his solicitor if he can help us out with all the legal stuff and we have decided on which survey to get.

It's coming along nicely. The next step is to get the 10% deposit in one place and then I have no idea what happens then.

Trying not to think about where we'll put our stuff in the new house - don't want to jinx the bloody thing.

I have also acquired a sexy purple-crimson bruise at the top of my calf. It's about 4 cm in diameter and perfectly round. Tried to take a pic but it kept coming out blurry so you will have to use your imagination. Because I know bruises are day-dream fodder :)) I clonked it on the bed post and I wasn't even doing anything interesting to get it. Just getting out of bed. :**:

Oh, watched the latest Hulk film and isn't Edward Norton a bit sexy? :>>

  • Offer Accepted

    The house is ours :>>

Well, it will be as long as everything turns out ok.

    VERY excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • That Pesky 10%

We have the 10% deposit. 8|

Which means we can go ahead and buy the house as long as everything checks out ok. 8|

We are very lucky that the fella's dad was happy to help us out with the deposit. We have savings but it would've taken us another couple of years to get the rest together. Also, after the disastrous meeting with the mortgage advisor we did a bit of research ourselves and came up with a much lower interest rate!!?? We have no idea why she didn't find this deal?? Anyway, the fella is now in full speed ahead mode and is so excited he wants to tell everybody about it! But, being the more cautious one, I am having to be 'bad cop' and tell him that I would like to at least see what other houses are out there first.

Slow and steady is what I want to do right now.

Hopefully, though, we will be in a new house this year. :)

  • Is It Cool To Wear A Cream Dress To A Wedding??

Or would it upset the bride??

This dress has just arrived from House of Fraser. It looks cuter on me coz I'm a short arse ;)

I love it and would like to wear it to a friends wedding in August. But I'd like to know if it's disrespectful to wear this colour seeing as the bride's in white and it's a similar colour?

I know I would've been annoyed if someone turned up in white, but seeing as this is cream is it the same thing?? :??:

Saying that though, I have no idea what the guests were wearing at my wedding because I was too focused on me and the fella to notice.......

  • Where's All This So Called Help For First Time Buyers??

Meeting with the mortgage advisor this morning.

And it's not good. It's the interest rates that has us buggered. We were offered one at 6.7 and we were hoping there were better deals out there preferably under 6% but the best the lady could find was 6.4%. Damn and Blast. And to really stick the knife in the lowest out there is 5.5% IN BELFAST!!!! We could always buy one back home....the commute would be a bit long though....

We may have to look elsewhere now and forget about what we are calling the 'Dream House.' :(

I have entered This Mornings competition TWICE to win £52,000 - this is what it has come to...........

My finger is still sore and now feels weird.

On another note I have been off the chocolate for a week and just had a couple of big buttons and they were awesome :)

  • Bloated & Bruised. And Solid.

Trapped the finger in the corner of the door frame last night. :##

I was coming out to talk to the fella and noticed he (yet again) left the light on and the extractor fan whirring in the bathroom. I turned around violently and chucked my swinging hand into the door I had come out of. We have those heavy duty fire doors as well that snap themselves closed.

I thought I was going to faint and throw up. Or throw up and faint. Of course I took it out on him lambasting him for not saving the electric. Again. A quick run under the cold tap (does what exactly??) and I was sat there cursing myself and the fella for 20 minutes. >:-(

It still hurts and is bloated and bruised. And solid. I am hoping this is temporary otherwise I won't be able to express my disdain for ignorant drivers. (The middle finger was the casualty, you understand). ;)

  • I Have The Power Of Invisibility!!

Tram conductor just ignored me even when I had my money out. >:-(

Saved myself £1.40 but I am put out I tell you!!

No class tonight as I'm not feeling right well. It's also proving to be quite a costly hobby as well U-(

Disappointed as we are doing hand bouquet's tonight but our teacher said we would be doing it again anyway so haven't missed anything dead important.

At least I'll get to see The Apprentice tonight. Silver lining and all that business.

  • 40th Wedding Anniversary

The folks have stuck with each other for 40 years. 8|

Longer, actually if you count the 2 years of courtship.

I think that's lovely. And good for the fella as without those 40 years he wouldn't have got to meet and marry such a fabulous person ;) (Because I wouldn't be here type of thing)........

.......aaaaannnnywaaaaay, they opened the Barcelona prezzie and to quote my dads text: "The pressy is brilliant, mum all excited says you hear of other people getting this now we got it" :))

Priceless. He also took a picture of her holding the present to prove that they waited until today. :)) Hopefully get to speak to them later. But I think the whole surprise worked out how we wanted it to and got the desired effect.

    We are good kids. :P

  • The Sozzled Baker Is Also Go

    Yes, I did it again.

I have connected my new blog to my original blog. Don't care - I like it. So The Sozzled Baker is good to go.

I couldn't find a nice baking/cookery type background so have gone for a wintery one on the basis that a lot of people tend to bake in the winter. Er.....so that's why I have a snowy theme for.....bakery.....ahem......

  • Shattered

    .....................

10 hour shift then 2 hours of flowers and I'm fecking knackered. I hope my enthusiasm isn't waning for the flowers. I was a bit bored tonight. :(

Anyway, things are looking up in work though. Should be getting more work starting Monday so blah blah blah.

Why am I on here?? Need some sleepies!!
    :zz:

  • Fly Escaped From The Ointment

I gave the Barcelona prezzie to my mum and dad.

I don't think we need to worry about them booking anything to Barcelona. Although I did spend the entire weekend trying to avoid Barcelona as a topic of conversation. :)) But of course my da mentioned that they are now thinking about going to Valencia so I started bigging it up saying they should definitely go there as everybody goes to Barcelona etc etc so I starts laughing because I know what Im trying to do and he asks me why I'm laughing. Couldn't help myself. They get to open it on Sunday and we are all so excited. They haven't got a feckin clue - my mum felt the prezzie and thought it was a picture frame!! LOL!! She better cry when she opens it.

My sis phoned me today and apparently my da has had to take the prezzie off my ma as she's been picking at it. Now I know where I get that from :)) She now thinks it's something to do with a computer game for the DS. She doesn't have a DS so I don't know why she would think that. |-|

  • Are You Stressed?

A friend emailed this to me.

Usually I roll my eyes and delete it without reading it properly. But this one did get to me and bits of it made sense.

    Stress.

A lecturer, when explaining stress management to an audience, raised a glass of water and asked "How heavy is this glass of water?" Answers called out ranged from 20g to 500g.

The lecturer replied, "The absolute weight doesn't matter. It depends on how long you try to hold it. If I hold it for a minute, that's not a problem. If I hold it for an hour, I'll have an ache in my right arm. If I hold it for a day, you'll have to call an ambulance. In each case, it's the same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes."

He continued, "And that's the way it is with stress management. If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later, as the burden becomes increasingly heavy, we won't be able to carry on. As with the glass of water, you have to put it down for a while and rest before holding it again. When we're refreshed, we can carry on with the burden. So, before you return home tonight, put the burden of work down. Don't carry it home. You can pick it up tomorrow. Whatever burdens you're carrying now, let them down for a moment if you can.

So, my friend, put down anything that may be a burden to you right now. Don't pick it up again until after you've rested a while."

Here are some great ways of dealing with the burdens of life:
    * Accept that some days you're the pigeon, and some days you're the statue.
    * Drive carefully. It's not only cars that can be recalled by their maker.
    * If you lend someone £20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.
    * It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to be kind to others.
    * Never put both feet in your mouth at the same time, because then you won't have a leg to stand on.
    * Nobody cares if you can't dance well, just get up and dance.
    * You may be only one person in the world, but you may also be the world to one person.
    * Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.
    * A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour.

    :)

  • Fly. Ointment.

The parents are on about booking Barcelona as their next holiday. 88|

But we've already booked it! What's going on with them?? So, my sister wants me to give them their prezzie early but I prefer to wait so they can open it on their anniversary which is only a week away. They are going to Spain next Saturday so it's highly unlikely that my da will want to book another holiday before he's gone on his first one. That's what I am hoping for anyway. I'll off over tonight so will see how the land lies and if they mention it I think I will have to try and put them off. How am I supposed to do that?? Barcelona is amazing and I raved about it when I came back. Damn!!! :##

Anyway, I don't think they have internet access so I will be away for a bit. Hope you all have a lovely weekend.
